2016 – A year of our family in photos | Year in Review

I thought I’d do a quick round up of our top moments from 2016. I only properly started writing blog posts in August, so some things have been included and you will have seen them, albeit most of them written at a later date. As i dont have a year of posts, I thought I would include my favourite memories for each month of 2016, which has been a pretty amazing year for the Brushneen Family… January    January was a quiet month, with plenty of Harley walks, and the completion of our photo wall – a project that had…

Ollie’s 4th Birthday – Photo Round Up

I always feel for Ollie, being that his birthday is 6 days before Christmas. It is always a stressful time because people have so much going on – I hope he doesn’t feel this too – I’m sure he doesn’t as the steady stream of presents is just amazing for him. We are really lucky that none of our family and friends have ever tried to pass off one present for both occasions and everyone makes a real fuss of him. Ollie turned 4 on the 19th December. He was really lucky to have a joint birthday party at our…

Christmas with The Brushneens – The Christmas Tag

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? I love Home Alone – I didn’t watch it as a kid, and started watching it when me and Ell got together, and we’ve watched it every year since – the kids love it – and Ollie esecpially loves to quote it. ‘Keep the change ya filthy animal’ – how can you beat that? We always put the same sort of things into it – treats and activities the kids can do on Christmas eve, and a few ways to keep them calm and to settle them into bed so they get a good nights sleep before the big day. I have made a video on our box which I will also…

Our Christmas Traditions – Movie Nights

As soon as the weather gets colder, and the nights start getting darker, and I know the summer is over,  movie nights/afternoons become a regular occurrence in our house. There is nothing better than getting everyone snuggled on the sofa under a blanket – especially after a long day or an outdoor walk. Sunday afternoons in my opinion are made for dog walks and sofa snuggles. Movie Nights become that more exciting towards the end of November when the christmas movies come out. We have a huge cuddly blanket that my mum bought me last christmas from M&S, and that…
