{The Ordinary Moments} #20 A New Tradition

This year I’ve fully embraced the blogger cliches – from bluebells, to the rapeseed fields and most recently visiting the Lavender Farm. Cotswold Lavender at Snowshill is about 45 minutes away from us, and I can’t believe we had not heard of it before. It is near to Cotswold Farm park where we visit at least once a year, and next year we will definitely make a day of it and do both. Ell and the kids were dubious – after all what is so exciting about fields and fields of purple flowers? Our first attempt was a bit of…

{The Ordinary Moments} #19 A Letter On Your Last Day At Preschool

Friday 14th July 2017 Dear Ollie This morning I dropped you off at preschool as I have done every term time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday since September. As always you walked in, you found your name on its apple and hung it on the tree. I put your lunch bag in its place and hung your bag on its peg. Luckily we were a little late and it gave me a good excuse to make a hasty retreat. I could already feel the tears starting to burn in my eyes – you were totally oblivious as I kissed you…

The Ordinary Moments #18 Just A Bucket & Spade

All three of my children have loved the beach from an early age. I know some children don’t like the sand, and get quite grumpy but with mine that has never been the case. Last week we went on our first summer holiday of 2017 to Cornwall – near St Austell. For the majority of the three hour journey, Izzie and Ollie talked about the beach and the sea and they were so excited. We weren’t able to get into our acclamation until after 4pm, and so after picking some lunch we headed straight to the beach and the kid…

{The Ordinary Moments} #17 A Familiar Summer Walk

As I’m so behind, obviously these photos were taken a few weeks ago in the half term holidays, but I couldn’t not share them. I love the school holidays, as as much as it can be a bit stressful having all three children to entertain at once, I love the freedom that it gives us. When Izzie was a baby , me and my mum would walk for miles and miles with her in the pushchair, usually doing the same lop near my mums house. It is mostly down lanes or country roads so you very rarely see traffic. Now…

{The Ordinary Moments} #16 Mason turned 2 & a mum guilt confession

I haven’t been around for the The Ordinary Moments lately – turns out our ordinary was just way too much dust, mess and a stressed mummy, during the kitchen renovation. As soon as that finished we moved on to the living room with various other mini projects in between. I’ve ended up feeling guilty as things have got pushed to the side, and life has ticked by in a blur of mayhem. We did however manage to get the kitchen finished in time to hold a 2nd Birthday party for Mason. When I say in time, it was literally a…

{The Ordinary Moments} #15 A love of photography and fun outside

To most people these photos will not look like an Ordinary Moment – in fact they probably look like they were taken during a family photo shoot. I suppose they were, but it has become an ordinary thing for us to randomly pop out most weekends and find a spot to take photos since I started blogging. I love being able to capture us as a family. I think before I started blogging there were only a handful of photos that featured me in them. Now once a month I make a point of taking photos for the Me &…
