The Me & Mine Project – April 2017

It’s the end of April and it’s been a funny old month. We’ve had sunshine and shorts and then random frosts and back to winter coats. This month Izzie turned 7, we had the most glorious weather, just like the the day she was born. Straight after her birthday, all hell broke loose in our house with the start of the kitchen renovation (if you remember the infamous flooding of the kitchen by our tabby cat). The rest of April has consisted of dust, dust, and more dust and it also coincided with the Easter holidays. I feel awful admitting…

Fields of Gold | April 2017

*This is a very photo heavy post – sorry but not sorry!* Every year I look at other blogs and see beautiful photos taken in the gorgeous rape seed fields. On a very boring day during the Easter holidays, the kids and I went on a secret spy mission to get some photos ourselves. I love how the bright yellow colours have come out and we had a wonderful hour – with zero fighting. I will treasure these photos of my babies, and remember this as a happy day amongst a lot of kitchen chaos that was going on. Here…

10 Reasons Why I am #RockingMotherhood

Firstly thankyou to the lovely Hayley at Land of Lawson for the tag. Writing this was therapeutic for me this week. I’ve not been having the best week with the kids for various reasons, and if I’ve said outloud that I think I’m failing once, I’ve said it three or four times. I did find writing this hard – if I’m honest I’m very critical of my own parenting, and often feel the ‘mum guilt’ because I don’t feel like I’m getting it right. As mums we need to build each other up, and not tear each other down –…

{Living Arrows 2017} #13

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gilbran This week I’m sharing a very rare sight in this photo of my eldest two. It’s rare because at the moment, not often are they found playing nicely together, and not fighting. Turns out, the trick is outdoor space, some paint and an old cardboard box. I won’t lie, the Easter holidays have been brutal, all they’ve done is scrap and tell tales on each other – but these moments where they are happy and content in each other’s company make it all worth…

{The Ordinary Moments} #13 Surely you aren’t big enough for school

I’ve been so behind because of the school holidays but I desperately wanted to write this Ordinary Moments post this week, as it was a really important week for my middle monkey. Ollie this week got his school place confirmed for September, and he got his first choice. He will be joining Izzie at her school and we couldn’t be happier. I am partly in denial that he is old enough to start school, as it seems two minutes ago he was a tiny baby. Despite me not wanting him to ever grow up though I know that he is…

REVIEW – Cartamundi Fundels Number Games

We were really excited to receive these Math games from Cartamundi Fundels. We actually received them a long time ago but with everything has been going on with our kitchen and the bad lighting due to the weather, the Easter holidays were the perfect time to be able to play these and give them a proper review. Izzie has always been into Math and numbers (reading and phonics is another story but she’s getting there) and any chance to play games with numbers, she jumps at. We received two games, Playing with Numbers (RRP £9.99) and a Multiplication pack of…
