{The Ordinary Moments} #15 A love of photography and fun outside
To most people these photos will not look like an Ordinary Moment – in fact they probably look like they were taken during a family photo shoot.
I suppose they were, but it has become an ordinary thing for us to randomly pop out most weekends and find a spot to take photos since I started blogging.

I love being able to capture us as a family. I think before I started blogging there were only a handful of photos that featured me in them.
Now once a month I make a point of taking photos for the Me & Mine project and the Siblings Project which is a photo of all three kids together.

If you look back through my early entries the quality of the photos wasn’t good. Every time we took a family photo it would end in tears and it was something I part dreaded but also loved doing each month.
Sunday we went out to try and get some family photos in the rapeseed fields and to try and find some bluebells. Saturday night when I was messing around with my camera I found a setting that meant I could change the delay time before the photo was taken and also choose how many shots it would take at once.
It was a total game changer!

We got so many lovely photos and not once did I get frustrated or feel like I hadn’t got the photos I’d wanted. All the kids looked at the camera and the photos came out perfect. I even managed to get some individual photos of the kids and the family ones are going up on our kitchen wall when the kitchen is finished.
I’m not sure really if it was the camera or that the blogger/photography is now the norm for us, but it was so lovely to play and wander and not stress.

I am so excited for our Cornwall holidays this year to actually get photos of all of us together and to get some gorgeous photos of the kids.

    Such beautiful photographs!

I wish I had more photos of my sons together too. Youngest is only a couple of months old but it’s nearly impossible to get the eldest to sit still long enough for a photo.

To be honest, I wish I had more photos of me with the boys too. Might make it a project for summer – get more family photos together!

It’s definitely fun to potter around with a camera and just see what happens – I know what you mean about the days you’re trying to nail a particular shot sometimes being a bit more stressful than you’d like! These are gorgeous shots, you’ve got a blogging full house with bluebells and rapeseed!

Beautiful photos. One of the things that I love most about what blogging has brought me, is the photos of the girls and us as a family. I too do Lucy’s photo projects and before that I hardly had any photos us as a family. Now I have so many and I love it. I’ve always had a lovely of photos and was always the one with the camera. But now I look at how to take photos, I see beyond my subject. I’ve got so much to learn, but I’m loving it x #theordinarymoments

These are lovely photos and I agree – those settings are a game changer! The remote is even better although mine hasn’t been working, but it encourages J and I to run to and from the camera causing lots of giggles! #TheOrdinaryMoments
