{The Ordinary Moments} #9 Reunions & House Stuff

This week has finally been illness free (YES!!) although hectic with a visit to the dentist, and parents evening.

I think spring is finally in the air.

This weekend we did manage to get out for some fresh air on Saturday. Izzie was so happy to be reunited with her best friend who we haven’t seen since they moved in January. We had a lovely walk at the local arboretum followed by a pub lunch. We had such a lovely time and all the kids behaved – obviously they had their moments.

Sunday was spent in the house, doing a bit of a ‘spring clean’ of sorts.

We’ve been doing a bit of moving things around, hanging photos, changing curtains, adding some new accessories, touching up paintwork and sampling paint colours for the downstairs.

After an accident with my lamp (mummy said no more monkeys bouncing on the sofa) I replaced it with one I really love.

I also added a new pink throw to our bed which I love for Spring.

We’ve changed the curtains back to the more ‘summery’ ones in the living room.

The boys room has been updated with a new prints and we’ve finally put up our family photo shoot prints from December.

After an incident with the cat, a washing basket and the tap, our kitchen got flooded on Monday. We have a visit from the insurance company planned on Tuesday to assess the damage. As a lot of the base units have swollen, and the kitchen is 10 years old, I’m not sure what will happen. It’s definitely not as simple as repainting the kitchen and regrouting the floor as we had planned. I never thought I’d have to utter the sentence ‘my cat flooded the kitchen’. We think he knocked the washing basket that was on the draining board. This slipped down and knocked the tap lever on. The basket (and my three loads of clean washing) filled with water and whilst we were at the dentist, flooded the kitchen.

I’ve been purging the rest of the house and tidying up and although there is still a lot to do, I feel like we are finally getting on top of things.

I love getting out and about and doing things at the weekend but sometimes we need a quiet weekend to just get things done.

See who else has linked with Katie & Donna for this week here….
