My Top Mummy Must Have Makeup Products

My Top Mummy Must Have Makeup Products

This is a new type of post for me – there is no way I could be ‘Beauty blogger’ as I am way too set in my ways. I always wear the same day to day makeup look – and vary it up ever so slightly when I go out. Some of the products below I have been using for a long time, and I’m sure there are newer products out there, but I’m definitely a creature of routine and habit.  I’ve been obsessed with makeup since I was old enough to buy ‘Shout’ Magazine with my pocket money!

I am one of those mums who have to wear makeup. Admittedly very minimal makeup, but I do put it on without fail none the less. My ‘mum face’ is a very natural look but I feel much more confident and ready to face the day wearing it. In fact, the few times I haven’t worn it on the school run, people have asked if I’m feeling unwell!

As I’ve been wearing this look for so long, it takes me less than 10 minutes in the morning to get ready – helped by the fact that I do nothing at all with my wild crazy hair, but that is a whole other post.

Since we’ve owned our house, it has been on my wish list to have my own dressing table, and as soon as Mason moved into his own room and we had the space, I was lucky enough to get this one from Ikea. It is my little space, and can also double as my desk, although I’m much more of a ‘write sitting on the sofa’ kind of blogger.

So without further ado, here is my dressing table and my must have make up products (I have included links to products that I could find online)….

Eyelash Curler – I’m not worried about it being fancy as long as the rubber is one piece – I’ve chopped off eyelashes before with a broken one! This Rose Gold one was £1 from Primark.

These are my must have face products – as a mum, anything that gets rid of dark circles is a winner for me and I love this Anti Age Eraser Concealer from Bourjois.
I cannot stand being pale and this cream bronzer from Loreal looks natural enough when blended well, and adds some much needed colour to my face. I’ve only been using it since the summer but really recommend it. My powder and highlighter/blush are from Revlon. This is my second version of both as I’ve put them both to pan in the past.

My brushes are by the wonderful Real Techniques – by Sam and Nic Chapman – I saw these recommended by Tanya Burr when I first started watching YouTube and even thought they are getting old, and are very dirty (I need to set reminders to clean them) they are the best brushes I’ve ever used.

My Illuminated mirror from No7 was a christmas present about 3 years ago and is used everyday – I think they are currently half price in store and would really recommend.

I have no eyebrows – or at least they are very faint. I like to pencil them in with this Soap and Glory Pencil, and then set them with my Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow, in ‘Frisk’.

My Daily Eyeshadow is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in ‘Creamy Beige’, and I add a bit of Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics in ‘Cover’ under my bottom lashes for definition.

I use this Nivea Lip Butter constantly – it smells lovely and leaves a light pink sheen.

Finally, my mascara – I’ve this for as long as I’ve worn makeup – I’ve tried others and always come back to this one. I have to have waterproof mascara and this one keeps the curl, doesn’t flake and doesn’t smudge – if they ever stop making it I would be devastated!

This my ‘Mum Make-up’ – a natural look but I don’t think I look as much like the tired mummy I am.
What are your mummy make up must haves?
NB. This is not a sponsored post – all products were bought by myself (and are probably several years old haha!)
