The plan this summer was to have a quiet and lazy one. By the end of the summer term, both kids were exhausted and zombie like and I was dreaming of a break from the school run (made especially harder by kids who didn’t want to go as they were worn out). Mason turned 1 on Saturday 14th May 2016. It is bittersweet when your final baby reaches their first birthday. I find myself looking forward to all the firsts left to come, but mourning the newborn stage, and the first smiles, and all the things I won’t get to experience with my babies again.                                We live in a beautiful area in the Cotswolds. Our house is on the edge of a smallish market town, but you are always only minutes drive from the fields. On Saturdays, Ell plays football, so we had a plan to go out looking for conkers (turns out it was slightly early, so we plan on trying again nearer to half term), and to catch the last bit of summer sunshine at Nanny’s.
