Our Holiday to Carlyon Bay, St Austell | June 2017

Our Holiday to Carlyon Bay, St Austell | June 2017

We’ve not long returned from our holiday to Cornwall – and the holiday blues have well and truly set back in, with the return to the school run, and the madness that the en dot the school summer term brings.

We had a wonderful time away – not really doing much. We visit Cornwall at least once a year and we’ve done all the touristy bits now, so our days are mainly spent on the beach, digging, building and paddling.

This time we went with my parents, and stayed in a gorgeous property in Carlyon Bay, near Charlestown (where they film Poldark for any Aiden Turner fans) St Austell. It was a beautiful modern HUGE house, with plenty of space for us all, and enclosed and very safe for the children to play and ride their scooters.

As with all our holidays, I don’t like to wrote too much about them, instead I like to let the pictures tell the story. We visited various beaches around Cornwall during our stay, and despite the persistent rain towards the end of the week, the kids and us had a fantastic time. It was lovely to spend uninterrupted time as a family, especially as daily life can rush past in a blur of routine and school runs.

Without further ado, here are some of my favourite photos from our holiday – and I’m so excited that we will be going back for another week in four weeks time – we cannot wait.

Day One – Carlyon Bay

Day 2 – Porthpean Beach

Day 3 – Looe & Charlestown Harbour

Day 4 – Par Sands

Day 5 – Fowey
