{Living Arrows 2017} #22 Festival Fun & Neon Lipstick

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

I love living where we do in Wiltshire  – its green and open and we are surrounded by countryside. I also love being part of the community – admittedly not in the village we actually live in, but the one where Izzie goes to school. They always have the best events going on, and this summer was no exception.

For the last two summers we have visited the Boondocks Festival – its a little festival, very family orientated, great music and great food and a great atmosphere. You can see our photos from last year here.

This year the festival was a mini version  ‘Baby Boondocks’. The kids were so excited – its the one weekend of the year they get to stay up a bit later, play with their friends (its so safe and secure), do arts and  crafts in the kids tent and dance to the music.

This year, both Izzie and Ollie were given some spending money – and Izzie used hers to buy her first ever lipstick. lets just say she’s not a fan of nude colours like her mummy. Add in some matching glitter makeup for us both, and some gold hairspray for her and we definitely looked liked we belonged at a festival.

The boys also had a great time and enjoyed the freedom and music.

I can write safely say that Izzie’s neon lipstick has been packed away for next year – although it did make me laugh as it reminded me of being her age and raiding my Nans makeup bag and coming downstairs plastered in blue eyeshadow and red lipstick – luckily my makeup taste has improved with age. We always joke that Izzie is my ‘mini-me’ but sometimes its scarily true!
