{Living Arrows 2017} #24 Starting School

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Kahlil Gilbran

I haven’t been around for Living Arrows for so long – I think maybe three weeks?! To be honest, life has just got in the way of blogging over the summer. Days out, hospital trips (more about that at a later date), and then all the rush to get ready for back to school has left my blog looking rather empty recently.

I’m back though, and with a very special Living Arrows. Last monday my very precious Rainbow baby, my middle child, started school.

Ollie, I’ve mentioned before is not the most easy going child – and compared to his practically horizontal sister and younger brother, sometimes can seem quite hard work. I feel awful writing that as I don’t mean it as it sounds, but he is more highly strung, and always wants to be busy. Not bad characteristics at all. Certainly not when it comes to starting school.

Ollie was totally ready to start school – and he breezed in with confidence on his first day. He’s used to going there every day, as he’s been dropping off Izzie for the last three years. He looked so smart and grown up in his uniform, and he totally took it all in his stride. This is where Ollie always surprises me as he has a tendency to freak out at the tiniest thing – someone knocking over his duplo will cause a outburst for example, but starting school was like falling off a log for him.

I was so so proud of him, and how he’s handled it all. He’s so pleased with himself for getting all his uniform on by himself each morning, and when he got set homework at the weekend, he was so eager to do it (something that NEVER happens with his older sister). He even had an amazing attempt at reading his books – although Mummy and daddy inwardly groaned at the sight of the dreaded Biff, Chip and Kipper again.

So here he is, my big boy all ready for his first day. I know one thing for sure, and that is that this little one is going to do amazing things. I am so proud to be his mummy – although I do wish he could stay small for a while longer yet.

If you had a school starter this week how did it go?

My kids are the oldest (I think) in the Living Arrows bunch that posts with Donna each week so it’s great fun for me to read and see photos of all the sweet little ones headed to school for their first days. I miss that time so much. Like I said in my post, this was the first time ever I didn’t (and was certainly not asked)help pick out outfits. I’m glad your boy enjoyed going. What a sweet photo of all three standing so proud all together. You have beautiful babies

He sounds like he is so ready for school and I hope he’s settling back in. So lovely to have you back with LA this week – even if you don’t join in each week it’s lovely when you do 🙂 Your three are all looking so grown up! x
