“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran

I am going to sound like the worlds worst mother, but I’ve been finding that I dread Thursdays. Thursday is the day that Ollie doesn’t go to preschool. It’s also the day that Izzie has Forest School so doesn’t need picking up until 4.30pm. It alway seems like such a long day.

Ollie can get quite frustrated when he is bored. At the moment he is streets ahead of where Izzie was at the same age. I think because he thrives on keeping himself busy and learning new things.

This week I decided that we would start doing things on a Thursday, even if it was something small. I took both boys to Clarks to get their feet measured. Ollie’s hadn’t grown and as I was used to Izzies (melodramatic) reactions, I was expecting a meltdown at no new shoes – but he was good as good. Must be a girl/boy thing. I held Masons hand, and Ollie held his other and he was so sensible walking around town.

I then took both boys to Waitrose and I got some fresh flowers and stocked up on fruit. We then stopped in the cage for cake for the boys and a mocha (and cake shhhh) for me. Both boys were so well behaved, and I felt so proud when two separate people commented on how good they were. It made me wonder why I had been dreading the day.

I’m so conscious of the fact that Ollie will be starting school in September, and whilst I know he will be ready, I don’t think I’m ready to let my Rainbow baby go just yet. I want to make the most of our Thursdays until he starts school. I’m starting to realise how grown up he is getting now – there are moments  where I wonder where the last four and a bit years have gone. We have the odd tantrum still and him and Izzie fall out consistently but I’m so proud of my biggest boy.

It looks like they were enjoying that cake! Long days with little ones can be daunting so I do similar and get out of the house whenever we can ! #livingarrows

At the moment I’m the opposite – I dread the days that Isla goes to nursery because she always cries so much when I drop her off, and then on and off throughout the day. It breaks my heart. She is getting better though. Glad that Ollie was good for you in town though. Enjoy every moment. #LivingArrows

I know the feeling! I love having Indie at home as they play together so well, but she thrives so much more when she’s at preschool. Sound like you had nothing to worry about though 🙂 xx

Thursdays are my worst day of the week too – I pick Troy up at midday, take him swimming, pick Athena up at 3pm and then take her swimming at 4pm and then home for dinner, bath and bed. Such a busy day. It sounds like your Thursday turned out fine in the end! x

They are focussed on that cake!! Mine would be too.

My eldest is four (and a bit) and if we were in England would be off to big school this September, as it is he goes to preschool in the school he was going too. All of a sudden they just seem so grown up right?
