“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran
This weekend was a huge one for the biggest and had to feature in my Living Arrows post. She went for her first ever sleepover (excluding the couple she has had with Nanny). I think I’ve only ever been apart from Izzie for four nights since she was born and she is 7 in 3 weeks. That sounds awful when I read it back. I’m not overly attached to her or won’t let her go. We haven’t had many opportunities to leave the kids. Especially having three, no one is clambering to have all three of them overnight.
I was nervous about her going. I almost said no, despite that she was going to her best friends house, and her mum is one of my best friends. Izzies best friend has moved about 45 minutes away – I was praying that she wouldn’t want to be picked up in the middle of the night!
It was really strange without her here, and I was a bit anxious but I needn’t have worried – she had a great time. She came home tired – Sunday’s bedtime was 6pm and she didn’t wake until 7am this morning, but she loved it.
She however did admit to my mum that she ‘really missed Mummy and Daddy’. I was secretly so pleased to hear her say it. She will always be my baby, no matter how big she gets.
This weeks photos are some I took before we left for her best friends house. She looks so grown up.
