2017 – Our Year In Photos

Happy New Year and welcome back!

I’ve been quiet on here throughout December, as I took part in Vlogmas. Uploading videos every day up until Christmas was hectic, and a huge learning experience. I captured so many memories and it was wonderful to take part in. It did make me realise how much I love Youtube, but I also missed blogging, and particularly taking photographs. I am gutted that I missed uploading our Me & Mine Project for December, but I literally took no family photos all month.

With that in mind, I thought I would do a round up of our year in pictures. We had a busy year, did so many things and visited lots of new places. I love that I took so many photos, and have captured so many special moments.

I’m not sure yet what 2018 has in store, b ut if it is half as good as 2017 then I know it’ll be a good one. Thankyou so much to everyone that has followed along with us this year – your support means the world to me.

I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas and New Year with your loved ones, and like me are ready and raring to go for 2018.

Here is a year in the life of the Brushneen family…

January

The year started on a bit of sad note as Izzie said goodbye to her best friend who moved away but we had a lovely day together getting muddy walking Harley.

We also had a lovely family day walking on the beach at Weston Super Mare, eating chips and getting ice creams.

There were plenty of opportunities to get outside in the cold,

and we took the kids swimming.

February

Again we attempted to blow away the cobwebs with another beach walk, this time at Brean.

We took all three kids bowling for the first time

and lots of time at the park and adventuring whilst Daddy played football…

It was also the month that we came home to find the cat had flooded the kitchen by knocking on the tap – and there began the start of our renovations.

March

The weather started to warm up, and so the trampoline and outdoor toys came back out…

Izzie went on her first sleepover and was tired for about a week afterwards…

and we celebrated Mothers day whilst at Legoland

April

Izzie turned 7 and we celebrated with a walk with friends at our local arboretum, and then a  garden party at home…

I took the kids on a ‘secret spy’ mission to get some photos in the gorgeous rape seed fields...

and we had more fun outside in the garden as Daddy started ripping out the old kitchen…

Finally I managed to take these beautiful shots in the rape fields and in the bluebells woods – some of my favourite photos ever…

May

More time was spent outside this month due to the kitchen renovation. The rape seed flowers quickly died off, but it didn’t mean the fields weren’t still fun…

Our littlest monkey turned 2!

Ollie did his first (and possibly last) May Dance...

and this sums up how we felt during the kitchen  process. Ell pretty much did the whole kitchen himself bar the plumbing and worktops, so it was very much a labour of love. We managed to get it finished the day before Mason’s 2nd birthday.

The new kitchen.. TA DA!

June

As the summer well and truly hit, this month was mainly spent outside at home

Izzie took her Brownie Promise

and the best part of our month was our Holiday to Carlyon Bay, Cornwall.

July

Izzie went paddle boarding with Brownies

We celebrated Fathers Day

We went to a local festival...

And we got to run around in Lavender Fields

August

Our August mainly consisted of school holidays, chill out time and another wonderful Cornish Holiday

I also got to go with my best friend to FRIENDS Fest which was just an amazing day.

and I took the kids on their first Cinema trip.

September

My rainbow baby Ollie started school and Izzie started year 3…

and we had lots of outdoor fun in the run up to Autumn…

October

October saw us take another wonderful holiday, this time across the bridge to Bluestone in Wales, where the kids got to toast marshmallows, and we had the best fish and chips in Tenby…

It also brought half term, and some pumpkin picking fun

November

November brought plenty of dog walks, and getting excited for the run up to Christmas and my blog became a lot quite as I started to focus more on my youtube channel…

December

December was as I mentioned before the month of Christmas and Vlogmas. I was gutted as I hardly took any photographs, but I did get a lot of memories on video.

We visited the Cola Cola truck, went ice skating and met Father Christmas, saw real life reindeer, Ollie turned 5 and was an elf in his christmas play!

We wore a LOT of matching pjs, got outside for some dog walks, and had our first proper snow day since Ollie was a newborn nearly 5 years ago.

Finally we celebrated our first Christmas in four years where no one got poorly.

I’ve also made a video round up of our year that you can watch here – I’m so lucky that I’ve been able to capture so many memories this year, both in photos and on video, and I hope to continue doing so throughout 2018. I’m so lucky to have these four in my life. Thankyou for sharing it all with us…
