Broken Mama

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will notice it has been a bit quiet here recently aside from pre scheduled posts that I do weekly. This week I haven’t even written those. The Easter holidays have well and truly broken me. I am feeling so many things right now. I feel guilty as I was looking forward to the holidays so much – I envisioned relaxed mornings, playing outside and spending time enjoying being together. I should’ve known it wouldn’t work out like that. In reality it has been earlier wake ups that we have on…

The Siblings Project – April 2017

This month has been a funny old one. It’s gone from crazy and hectic with the end of term to stupidly quiet as we’ve been stuck at home a lot, due to the start of our kitchen renovations. Because of all the mess, I haven’t blogged or taken photos much, but to be honest I’ve enjoyed the break and spending time with my mad three – although there have been days that I’ve been rocking by the time Ell got home. We tick by nicely in term time, and then the holidays come and it all seems a bit much…

Izzie’s 7th Birthday Memories

Izzie turned 7 on the 8th April 2017. This is another photo heavy post but I love doing these so I can keep the photo memories from special events in one place. Her actual birthday was spent with friends at our local Arboretum, and then we had a chilled afternoon at home in the garden. The following day we had family and friends round for a BBQ and we had the most glorious hot weather – it was roasting – mirroring the weather from the day she was born. Here are the photos I took of Izzie’s 7th Birthday weekend…

{Living Arrows 2017} #12

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gilbran This week Izzie turned 7. I’m still wondering how that happened? A minute a go she was this tiny baby and now she is 7?! Remember when you give birth and people say ‘enjoy every moment, it goes so fast’ and you politely nod and smile in your sleep deprived haze. Then you wake up one day and have a 7 year old?! Izzie was so happy to spend her birthday with her best friend. If you read my blog regularly, you may remember that…

{The Ordinary Moments 2017} #12 Lazy Days and Park Life

Even though we don’t have anything too exciting going on in our day to day lives, life can be so hectic. I’m not sure if this is having three kids, having kids at school/preschool or just having kids in general. At the moment life is whizzing by in a blur of homework, play dates and housework – mainly that ever growing washing pile. I find myself living for Sundays when we can have time to slow down, plod along and be just the five of us. Hectic seems to be our new ordinary, and I can’t explain how much I…

Happy Birthday Izzie | Izzie’s Birth Story

Dear Izzie, As I’m writing this, it is the 6th of April, two days before your 7th birthday. This day 7 years ago I had arrived at Great Western Hospital in Swindon to be induced. You were was my first pregnancy, I had no idea what to expect. This is story of the day you were born. I was being induced at 40+3 because of suspected diabetes. I had tested positive for gestational diabetes at around 26 weeks but had not had any issues with my blood sugars, and never had a reading that was high, but the induction was still…
