{The Ordinary Moments} #7 Fresh Sea Air

This week didn’t start off good. The sickness bug that I wrote about in last weeks Ordinary Moments – it got both me and Ell. Parenting three kids when you both are fighting to share the toilet, and feeling absolutely dreadful is probably one of the hardest things we’ve ever done. The highlight was Ell attempting to make the kids a picnic lunch and asking for me to help. I couldn’t go within a few feet of the food without running back to the loo to be sick.   I felt so awful that the much longed for half term…

How Do You Know When You Are ‘Done’ Having Babies?

I was looking back through the photos on my phone the other day – like a lot of other bloggers probably do, I must take hundreds in a month on my iPhone alone. I found myself looking through the photos I took when Mason was a newborn. I love photos of my babies as newborns, especially the ones I’m in, even if they are only selfies. You can see my tired eyes and lack of makeup, but also the pride, and  total love and adoration in my eyes for this tiny human. The plan was always three children – well…

The Siblings Project – February 2017

Normally I start off by saying that the month has flown by – I feel like January into February has dragged. January is a long month anyway, and after all the bright lights and sparkle of Christmas was put away, we seemed to be left with illness, that has flowed its way into February. I hadn’t even taken any photos of the three of them together this month. Apart from the odd day, it was mainly spent inside. The thing with having three kids, is they all pick up different germs, from different places, at different times. This month…

{Living Arrows 2017} #5

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran I’m late with thus weeks Living Arrows. The last 10 days have been unbelievable, even by our households recent spate of illness. Last week Izzie started off a new tummy bug, followed by Mason. I got it Friday, and am still feeling the effects now. It even took Ell down. Ollie is luckily still standing. Tuesday this week was Valentines Day. We are not big Valentines celebrators I have to say – it seems like the money could be better spent elsewhere. Our plans for…

Cake Through The Letterbox – Bakerdays Review

I think as a Mum, when you have a hard day, things aren’t going to plan – or your kids have tracked mud on your new rug (yes it happened), my go to is tea and cake. Most likely why I gained weight after Izzie was born. And Ollie – and Mason actually. Once you are past the newborn days, is is probably advisory to rein in on the cake, but in all seriousness, you really can’t beat a good slice of cake as a pick me up or a treat. I was so excited when I received a message…

{The Ordinary Moments} #6 Quarantine & Old Films

Yesterday I was stressing a little. I love taking parts in the ordinary moments each week, and I love capturing photos for it. Only this week I’ve only taken a handful of photos, and none are the kind I like to take – natural light and outdoors. Can you believe we’ve had ANOTHER week of illness. With three kids, I know they will invariably be poorly at different points, as they are all picking up germs from different places, but it has been constant in our house since the beginning of December. It has got to the point I honestly…
