{The Ordinary Moments} #3 A Rough Week for Mummy

I struggled writing a title for this post. I didn’t want to write something negative, but in all honestly this week has been a real struggle. Some weeks and sometimes months are just like that. For me, January is always a hard month. Sophie’s anniversary is the 1st February, and the lead up to it, coupled with the disappearance of the pretty Christmas lights and cheer, and the hard crash back to reality and the grey days, usually means I find it hard. This week started ok, and then took a turn for the worse when on Tuesday, Mason started…

{Living Arrows 2017} #1

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gibran My intention when I started blogging last summer, was to record all the memories of the kids growing up – the big moments, but the small ones too. I hadn’t seen the Living Arrows Linky until recently and I’m so excited to be joining in – albeit a bit late for the start of the year. I take a lot of photos on my ‘big’ camera, and I enjoy it, but the smaller moments are normally captured on my iPhone, and that is where all my images this week came from. Three…

The Siblings Project – January 2017

Ummm, how are we halfway through January? I swear yesterday it was Christmas Eve?! January has been pretty quiet so far for these monkeys, settling back into their school and pre school routines, and for Mason and me, getting used to having a quieter house again. Both Izzie and Ollie have settled back into school well – especially Izzie, considering it must be weird not having her best friend around, now she has moved away. Ollie has also gone back to preschool without any fuss, which is amazing, since last year we were having to convince him…

{The Ordinary Moments} #2 Ice Cream at the Seaside in January

On the weekends I struggle. It’s no secret now that the kids are growing up, I find Saturdays when Ell plays football really hard with three kids on my own – if you follow me on Instagram , you’ll regularly see my Saturday moans. This time of year, it is also harder to get out the house with them, being cold, dark and often rainy. After a miserable Saturday last week, where the kids did nothing but fight and make a mess, by the time Ell got home from football I had had enough. I made the spur of the…

My ‘Mum Uniform’ Wishlist – Next Spring 2017 | Style on Saturday

As a teenager, it was a standing joke in our house that when the new season Next Catalogue was delivered, my mum would try and hide it, as she knew I would have my nose in it straight away. These days, it is no different, except maybe it is easier as the entire collection is available online – back in my teenage days they used to send a CD Rom with the catalogue – showing my age a bit there. Since becoming a mum, my style has become rather predictable, a lot of navy, stripes, denim and tan accessories –…

Christmas Photo Round Up 2016

It is well into January now, and i;ve written  few posts which have involved our Christmas period 2016. It was a funny old one – the build up went on forever, and there was a lot of illness (including a scary hospital stay for Mason) in our house. We still managed to get a lot done, and loads of memories made. I just wanted to do a quick round ups of my favourite photos (in no particular order), so here they are – the Christmas Izzie was 6, Ollie turned 4 and Mason was 1…          …
