Messy Me Review | Gorgeous Oilcloth Products for Children

The one thing that the Little Brushneen’s are always good at is getting messy. Honestly, by 3pm you would think that I’d sent them down a mine rather than to school each day.

We are huge fans of messy play and craft – well I say we, the kids mainly. I enjoy it when it’s happening, and love that the kids enjoy it but then hate the mess and washing of the clothes afterwards. I have at points genuinely thought of taking out shares in stain removers as we go through so many.

As Izzie and Ollie have got older they love to help baking , and now Mason is starting to enjoy it too.

We were so pleased when Messy Me offered to send us these beautiful Oilcloth Aprons for the three of them. They are beautifully and well made, durable and obviously being made of oil cloth, they are wipe clean – perfect for all types of baking, messy play and craft.

Messy Me make several other gorgeous oilcloth products from bibs, to messy play mats, to highchair inserts. I’m so gutted that I didn’t come across them before as they make inserts both to fit our Messy Me and covers for our wooden one. If we do ever decide to have another baby I will definitely be purchasing these for weaning.

The kids put their Messy Me aprons properly to the test helping to make a Victoria Sponge. They were not impressed with the sponge that sank (I have never claimed to be able to bake in my defence) but we were so impressed with the aprons. Even though they managed to get covered in sponge mix, egg (don’t ask!) and jam, the aprons covered them well and when we had finished, a quick wipe and they were good as new. They were also perfect for helping with the washing up afterwards.

The aprons are stylish, practical and can even be machine washed at 30° if needed. They are recommended for children aged 3-5 but Izzie is (a small) 7 and a half and hers fitted comfortably. There are huge range of designs to choose from – we went for grey stars and the floral pattern, and they cost £12.50 each. You can find the range of designs Messy Me.

I will definitely be popping back to Messy Me – perhaps for a Messy Play Mat as we currently have a Tuff Table that we don’t really use as I hate picking up the sand/glitter/playdough etc off of the floor. The products are all really well made and come packaged up in lovely tissue paper.

Disclaimer: We were kindly sent these aprons in exchange for a review, as always all opinions and photographs are my own.
