REVIEW – Bibetta Children’s Placemat

We discovered Bibetta products when we started weaning Mason just after he turned 6 months old.

With Izzie and Ollie we had an array of different bibs, ranging from long sleeved, to plastic. The plastic ones always seemed to big for their necks, and the long sleeve ones, although good at covering their clothes were a huge faff to get on.

We found out about the Bibetta Ultrabibs range when a friend had bought some of their bibs and I was instanty impressed. We bought a few and have never looked back. They are made from a type of material that is similar to a wetsuit. They have a strong, comfortable velcro fastening, they are comfortable, brightly coloured and most importantly (for me) they wash up amazingly. I hate stained bibs and clothes. Also when you wash them, because of the material they dry so quickly. Nearly 18 months down the line we are still using those same bibs.bibetta placemat

I was so excited when Bibetta asked if we would like to review their placemat. Mason now sits to the table, and has currently wrecked two of my standard placemats by tipping over his milk or staining them with food.

When it arrived, i was excited to see it was the same material as the bibs. it has a non slip backing, and it folds into itself for storage – or to take it on the go. We were sent the green version, and straight away, Mason put it to the test. He is a great eater, but a messy one – any opportunity to smear yogurt or blueberries – usually to get a laugh from his older siblings – he is on it.

As predicted, he did a number on it – by the end of the meal it was FILTHY. I chucked it straight in the washing machine on a 30 degree quick wash with a few of his dirty bibs, and when it had finished left it out to dry. it was easily dry again by teatime, and there were no stains on it at all. I was so impressed.

We have been using it for a while now, and it still looks good as new.

I love that it folds up into itself (just like the bibs do) and its so handy to take out with you in the changing bag. I have a bit of a phobia of my kids eating off tables in restaurants and always carry antibacterial wipes, but now I can just out the placemat down for them to use.

Also the pocket that it folds into for storage is great for catching the food that is dropped – I think every mums fears are realised when you look under the restaurant table after your child has eaten and see the carnage -this goes a own way to preventing that.

The Bibetta Placemat is available from their website and all good retailers and is priced at £14.99.

Bibetta kindly sent us the Children’s placemat for us to review, but all words, options nd photos are my own – I would never recommend a product if myself or the kids didn’t love it.
