All my children ave been animal obsessed – before they could say the names of the animals, they could make the noises that they make. We have a ridiculous collection of soft toys animals, and various books and plastic toys featuring different animals, but we have never ad any wooden ones.
I love wooden toys – they can literally last for generations and they are timeless – my children love to play with toys that me and my brother played with as kids. 
Imagine their delight when they opened a lovely parcel from SRI Toys containing some lovely wooden animal toys. We were sent the A-Z Animal Set which retails for £36.99. There is a different animal for each letter of the alphabet. Perfect for Ollie who has just started school and is learning about about letters and phonics, and also perfect for Mason (2), who quite honestly couldn’t have cared less about the letters, but loved playing with the animals and trying to stack them on top of each other.
The animals came in a lovely canvas bag, a great idea, as I hate having sets of toys and nowhere to store them so I can keep them all together. 
The boys both played really happily with the animals for quite a while – Izzie who is 7 loved using them to ‘teach’ the boys about the different animal names – the great thing about being the eldest is getting to boss your younger siblings around.
SRI Toys are handmade from natural, sustainable, rubber wood that is locally grown to the company. They are also biodegradable, safe and non toxic, and encourage imaginative play.
They help develop hand-eye co-ordination, mortar skills visual awareness amongst other things. 
We loved how bright and colourful the toys were, however because they are handprinted, they had bashed against one another in the bag, and there were a few marks on the animals. I’m assuming this is because of the way they were stored together, and it didn’t affect the kids play at all.
These toys would be gorgeous Christmas, Birthday or Christening Presents for a younger child. There is a gorgeous selection on their website, and well worth a look if you are looking for a present for a little person in your life.
