The Me and Mine Project – October 2016

The Me and Mine Project – October 2016

This is our first time linking up with The Me & Mine Project. I’ve been reading the lovely Katie at Mummy Daddy Me‘s blog for a long time, and her Me and Mine posts, and always thought what a lovely idea it was to get a family photo once a month.

As a family of five, photos with all of us in are rare. Either someone is asleep, or having a tantrum, or at work. Also when taking a photo of all of us, the key element is having someone to take the photo.

Because I’ve decided to start blogging ‘seriously’, I wanted to start joining in with link ups, and Me and Mine was straight away one I knew I wanted to do. I think having the kick up the bum each month to go out and get a lasting memory of all of us is totally priceless.

So last weekend, armed with my new tripod, and very new camera (a very early christmas present), we headed off to the woods (as you do at 9.30am on a Sunday) to try and get some photos. I was also hoping to get some lovely autumnal photos of the kids kicking about in the leaves – alas that was not meant to be. Best laid plans do not work with a three year old and 17 month old. Mason was going through a phase of separation anxiety this month (teething?) and refused to co-operate unless he was attached to myself or Ell. Ollie, was as ever, being the ‘threenager’ and wasn’t in the mood for photo taking.

Regardless, I did have the foresight to take the family photos first, and we got some good ones.

This month has been a funny one. We had a lots of germs, plenty of snot, and our fair share of tears – I think back to school tiredness hit hard, and half term was very much being looked forward too. I’m hoping November return to schools sees us using slightly less tissues, if i’m honest.

I’ve held back on sharing these photos on Instagram as I was so excited for this post. So here is our first ever Me and Mine – us in October 2016. I’m already really excited for next month.

If you would also like to link up, you can do so here – and check out some of the other lovely bloggers who are participating too….

Ahh welcome to the Me & Mine link up than my lovely. You will love it and it really gives us that kick to get those family captures of all of us and not with us bloggers behind the camera. I have been cohosting it for a long time and been doing it for years I love it so much. You can see how much the children have grown each month at the end of the year. So lovely. Gorgeous first family captures here. #meandmineproject
