The Me & Mine Project – January 2018

The Me & Mine Project – January 2018

For the first time ever I’m not going to say how quickly January flew by – I swear it has lasted about 8 weeks! I was so gutted that I missed the December Me & Mine Project, we were just too busy enjoying Christmas and spending time together that we literally took no family photos at all.

January is always a funny old month for our family – it is the run up to the anniversary of losing Sophie, and this year will mark 6 years. That alongside the Christmas decorations being gone, makes January a long, cold, grey month that always bring a low mood.

We’ve had amazing highs (Izzie performing at Young Voices in Birmingham, lots of Disneyland Paris planning) and some lows (rainy weekends, poorly little people). I honestly can’t wait to see the back of January and I feel the same each year.

One of the reasons I love the Me and Mine project so much is that it pushes me to get out and take family photos. This months were taken on a walk in the town in Wiltshire that we live in, and a walk we regularly do, as Harley our springer spaniel loves a good swim in the river – as you can see by how wet he is in the photos below!

These photos are bitter sweet, as I’m posting them on the eve of Sophie’s Anniversary, and they are a huge reminder that we will always have one missing in our family photos. On the other hand, they are also a poignant reminder of what we do have and why we should feel so so lucky.

I’m glad January is finally at a close and soon we will start to see longer, warmer and brighter days – and they can’t come soon enough.

I am sending so much love to you Gemma and especially tomorrow, it is hard when there is someone missing and it is only natural to see that sometimes x

Oh these are so beautiful. What a lovely place to have so close and be able to take beautiful walks and snap some fab family photos. We didn’t have one day without rain for us to get out for ours so they had to be indoors which I hate but love this project for the motivation to still take our family snap. #meandmine
