The Me & Mine Project – October 2017

The Me & Mine Project – October 2017

I’m rushing to write this months Me & Mine Project, amongst tidying the house and putting up more Halloween decorations. All of a sudden the nights have got darker, and we are nearly in the realms of Christmas prep season (November).

October has, like every month before it, absolutely flown by in a blur of our holiday to Wales, school and homework, and half term.

Every month I say, this month is going to be busy but next month is quieter, and then by the time the next month has come around the calendar is full again.

I think I’m now beginning to accept that life as a family of five is just busy full stop. We are lucky to live in a busy community where there is always something going on, and with two children now at school, there are always parties and play dates. Sometimes it overwhelms me but for the most part I love the hustle and bustle of everyday life and I wouldn’t change it for the world. So much so that I honestly think I could add another little person into the mix – though that is subjective and still very much up for discussion 😉

Our break to Wales (these photos were taken in beautiful Tenby) was the perfect opportunity to take a breath, and spend some quality time together. Memories of that holiday will stick with me forever, just funny things the kids did, my sheer delight at getting to drive a golf buggy – and Ell’s laughter at my sheer delight! All five of us struggling to climb a gigantic sand dune and the day Ollie picked up actual dog poo thinking it was a stone. This holiday, amongst other things (the sheer amount of toys this month for one) has made me feel so incredibly proud and lucky that I have this blog and that I get not just to record our memories but such wonderful opportunities too.

This month Mason has stared speaking a lot more – he has the cutest tinkly little voice. He absolutely loved having Izzie and Ollie home for half term. It wasn’t the best of school holidays, and we had a few incidents but otherwise it was nice to have a break from the school run.

It’s been a busy but quiet month and November is only looking even more busy. Today I spoke on two different radio stations about Sophie’s story – sharing our loss and supporting Kicks Count Campaign to ban home dopplers.

It made me so proud of this little corner of the internet that I call mine, and also of my little family.

Each month I get a little tinge of sadness when I am sharing Me and Mine, because there is obviously a huge gap in the photos. It is however a gap nearly filled by my Rainbow babies, Ollie and Mason and I couldn’t be prouder of us as a family. We have come so far and these four are my absolute world.

And I’m so grateful that I get to share my world with you all.
