{The Ordinary Moments} #13 Surely you aren’t big enough for school

I’ve been so behind because of the school holidays but I desperately wanted to write this Ordinary Moments post this week, as it was a really important week for my middle monkey.

Ollie this week got his school place confirmed for September, and he got his first choice. He will be joining Izzie at her school and we couldn’t be happier.

I am partly in denial that he is old enough to start school, as it seems two minutes ago he was a tiny baby. Despite me not wanting him to ever grow up though I know that he is totally ready.

Out of the three of them, Ollie is the keenest learner. He thrives on learning new things and enjoys it.

Tomorrow he starts his last full term at preschool – again it feels like a minute since he started. My rainbow baby is growing up so fast – I want to stop time just for a bit. There is something about learning your child’s school place that makes it so emotional – not that it takes much for me.

I know no matter how much he drives me round the bend, I am so proud of him and I know he is going to go far. I just hope he can stay my baby just a tiny bit longer.

I can completely relate. Our boys sound so similar – keen to learn. I wish they could stay little for a bit longer – maybe another year before school just so we can hold onto it for a while more. But, I know they will thrive at school x
