{The Ordinary Moments} #16 Mason turned 2 & a mum guilt confession

I haven’t been around for the The Ordinary Moments lately – turns out our ordinary was just way too much dust, mess and a stressed mummy, during the kitchen renovation. As soon as that finished we moved on to the living room with various other mini projects in between.
I’ve ended up feeling guilty as things have got pushed to the side, and life has ticked by in a blur of mayhem.
We did however manage to get the kitchen finished in time to hold a 2nd Birthday party for Mason. When I say in time, it was literally a few hours before – and there are still minor bits to finish, such as regrouting the floor.
Our new country style kitchen was the perfect setting for afternoon tea and playing in the farEn – which is exactly what we did.
I did confess afterwards to Ell that I felt so bad as his birthday flew by, and I took hardly any photos as I was either trying to get the food ready, or trike to be in the moment.
I know he won’t remember his 2nd birthday, and the fact that I don’t have many photos is haunting me a little bit – as a mum I put so much pressure on myself to be perfect, to be organised and it doesn’t always work out.
On the other hand, I hope Mason, and Izzie and Ollie know how loved they dare, how adored and how I really would do anything for them. I’ve struggled with Mason turning two – and not having a little baby anymore. I don’t want to believe that phase of my life is over yet. I know he will always be my baby, but now the days when he needs me for everything are getting less and less. I’m not sure how I’m going to get around feeling like this – but I do know I need to enjoy every second, every tantrum and every dribble kiss that I can get!
Anyway, without further ado here are the photos I did get round to taking…
