{The Ordinary Moments} #7 Fresh Sea Air

{The Ordinary Moments} #7 Fresh Sea Air
This week didn’t start off good. The sickness bug that I wrote about in last weeks Ordinary Moments – it got both me and Ell. Parenting three kids when you both are fighting to share the toilet, and feeling absolutely dreadful is probably one of the hardest things we’ve ever done.
The highlight was Ell attempting to make the kids a picnic lunch and asking for me to help. I couldn’t go within a few feet of the food without running back to the loo to be sick.

I felt so awful that the much longed for half term had started that way – and to be honest even by Thursday, we had both hardly eaten and were feeling quite ropey. I felt like I failed at ‘mumming’ the kids this week – they were more than happy colouring and watching movies but I had big plans for half term that didn’t even come close to working out.
Friday dawned and the sky was bright and for the first time in a week we both felt good.
We decided some decent fresh air was a good idea and drove to Brean which is about an hour from us. We were only there an hour but the beach was deserted except for a few dog walkers. The sea was out so we didn’t get to paddle but we remembered our buckets and spades and the kids were in their element digging and building.
It was definitely what we all needed. It was so lovely to see their happy faces running around on the beach and I managed to get a few lovely photos.

I’m hoping the bugs end here now – the weather seems to be getting warmer by the day and I love that we are seeing more and more sunshine.
Tomorrow is back to preschool for Ollie and Izzie is back to school on Tuesday. It will be nice to get back into a routine, and look forward to the Easter holidays (with hopefully no more illness).

Oh these are darling. We just had a winter beach day too it was magical. The kids love the fresh air and roaming free as much as I do. So lovely #ordinarymoments

Parenting when so ill is ridiculously hard and I think you deserve a well done for just getting through that, the beach days looks pretty great too and I cannot wait for the warmer weather for more free roaming. X

I'm so sorry that your half term was pretty much a wash out. We were much the same the week before – there's nothing worse than being sick as well as the children – it's so hard to parent when you're sick yourself. Your day at that beach looks lovely though, just what the doctor ordered and it's just so nice to get some fresh air x
