Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Day & Night | REVIEW

At the end of January I was so excited to be invited to an event in London with the wonderful Tommee Tippee for the launch of their new Perfect Prep Day & Night Machine. Although we currently don’t have a baby who we make bottles up for, I’ve made no secret of the fact we would like to add to our family. That, along with the fact that we had owned the original Perfect Prep machine and found it life changing when we had Mason as a baby, I was so excited to see the new machine and the improvements that Tommee Tippee had made from the original.

With my older children, Izzie who is now 8 and Ollie who is now 5, we made bottles up the old fashioned and long winded way. After sterilising we would boil the kettle, wait for it to cool down before making up a feed. It was a nightmare when you had a hungry baby, especially in the early days when you didn’t know when and how much they would feed.

When I was pregnant with Mason in 2015 I heard great things about the Original Perfect Prep machine and purchased one. It really was life changing – being able to make up a fresh feed so quickly and on demand – and that was the right temperature.

There were a few things that I thought weren’t ‘perfect’ on the original machine – mainly that you had to add the hot shot of water that kills any bacteria in the formula and then race against the clock to add the scoops of formula, which was harder as they got older and were having bigger bottles.

The original machine also had a very noisy beep, and it was a bit confusing to clean the machine and change the filters etc – I always forgot where I had put the instructions and had to download them everytime.

The launch party at Shakespeare’s Globe was just beautiful – the decor with clouds made from balloons was just stunning – and I also got to meet the gorgeous Katie Piper who was there as an ambassador for Tommee Tippee. We also had a demo of the product and got to see the changes, the new features, colourways and also a demo of the product.

So what are the differences on the New Perfect Prep Day and Night Machine?

The machine allows you to prepare a bottle at the perfect temperature in just two minutes.

There is now a volume control – so no more loud beeps – you can even silence it for nighttime.

It now has a nightlight feature – it glows gently allowing for making night feeds easier.

It now has a digital display which gives you step by steps instructions for first use, replacing the filter etc, and also notifications when the filter needs replacing etc – much better than the previous design where there were only lights on the side of the machine.

It has a more robust bottle stand.

It works with most bottle and formula brands.

It is available in four colours, White, Black, Grey and Red and is now on sale at all major retailers for RRP £130.

On a separate note I loved the grey rimmed bottle that came with the machine  – Tommee Tippee please make these as a set!

Disclaimer: I was kindly sent a Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Day & Night in exchange for this review – I also got to pick the colour (grey) which I think goes perfectly in my kitchen. All opinions and photos (unless other wise stated) are my own.

    Fab review!
I used the original Tommee Tippee machine and i loved it (apart from the loud beeps!). We are looking to have another baby in the next year so will definitely be upgrading to this!

We have one of these and have been using it with Freddie (now 15 weeks old) it is fantastic! It’s a lifesaver as it only takes a couple of minutes to make up his feed and it’s a brilliant temperature. We’ve moved ours upstairs for the night feeds as it was easier walking across the bedroom rather than down our creaky stairs at 4am. Love the display on it too, simple but just what every bleary eyed parents needs at the ungodly hour x
