The Hair Helper Review | Hair Accessory Storage for a messy 7 year old

I’m not sure if it is that Izzie is the eldest, that she’s a born muddler, or that she takes after her mother and hoards everything, but wow does she have a messy bedroom full of things. Having the smallest room probably doesn’t help, but believe me when I say, Izzie likes to collect thing. From little toys, to bits of string (that she may later need for a ‘craft project’), you name it and you will probably find it in her bedroom.

The thing we probably have to most of though, is hair accessories. From a tiny baby, Izzie has had a head of thick hair. She is now 7 and a half, and so you can imagine the sheer amount of hair accessories we’ve collected in that time – especially since she will never willingly throw anything away.

When we heard about The Hair Helper, it sounded like the answer to our prayers. Izzie loves me plaiting her hair at night, into lots of little plaits so that when she wakes up in the morning, it is wavy. The problem that usually arises is that we can never find enough hair ties. Izzie has some of the square Ikea storage in her room, and she has a whole canvas box stuffed full of her hair bits – picking through it to find enough hair ties before bedtime is the bane of my life.

The Hair Helper comes in pink or white, and then you select your ribbon colours from a  choice of 8 different colours – Izzie mixed and matched purple and pink, but you can have up to three different colours if you’d like. You an then personalise you hair helper with your name, and different symbols (we chose stars). The Hair Helper retails for £17.99 and then you pay 20p per letter or symbol that you want to personalise it with. The letters and symbols are vinyl stickers and you apply them yourself, so you can be a creative as you want with personalising it.

The product is a very simple yet clever and effective design. you n use the ribbons to store your slides and clips, and then there are hooks at the bottom to hang your hair ties onto. It also has a place to store our hair brush on the side – although in true Izzie style, we couldn’t actually find her hairbrush, so she hooked some hair bands into it.

Izzie loved organising her hair slides, and it also came with the fittings to be able to attach it to the wall – a job that Daddy helped with, although it was super easy and I could’ve totally worked out how to do it myself!!

We were so impressed with the hair helper and now the morning and evening task of doing Izzie’s hair has been made so much easier – although her bedroom isn’t any tidier – she just found more bits to store in her old hair tie box – I’m dreading what she will be like as a teenager!

Disclaimer: We were kindly sent the Hair Helper and vinyl stickers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and photographs are as always my own.
