6 days before Christmas Ollie turned 5. Having your birthday just before Christmas has its good and bad parts. Bad – when people wrap your presents in Christmas paper, or give you a joint Christmas and Birthday gift (luckily we have wonderful family and friends and this rarely happens). Good – everyone is in a festive party mood already, and you get presents twice within a week. I would say we are quite a competitive family – I actually look forward to when the kids are a bit older so we can pick teams and go head to head during board games. As a kid, every Sunday without fail we would have a roast dinner. Whether my Mum cooked it, or my Nan – even when we were on holiday we would even find a Carvery or somewhere serving Sunday lunch. Since being married and having children, I have to say it isn’t a tradition that I’ve continued. I’m not sure if it is that Izzie is the eldest, that she’s a born muddler, or that she takes after her mother and hoards everything, but wow does she have a messy bedroom full of things. Having the smallest room probably doesn’t help, but believe me when I say, Izzie likes to collect thing.
