JORD Wooden Watch Review

JORD Wooden Watch Review

I am the easiest person to buy a Christmas present for – if you asked me to make a list I could probably think of a page full of things I would love – not n ecessarily need mind you. My husband on the other hand never wants anything. He quite literally drives us all to despair on his Birthday and at Christmas as he can never think of anything he really wants – and if he does want something he just gets it when he sees it, so ends up with the obligatory pants and socks and new clothes.

When Jord  (pronounced Yode) kindly got in touch to see if I would like to review one of their beautiful wooden watches, I jumped at the chance. I had bought Ell a beautiful watch 10 years ago for a present on the day we got married, and styles have obviously changed a lot since then, so the chance to be able to give him a beautiful watch was something I couldn’t pass up.

Jode is based in St Louis, USA, and are constantly developing new designs that mostly use a mix of natural and reclaimed materials.

They have the most stunning range of watches, and it was so hard to pick but I decided on the Dover watch for Elliot. It is Jord’s first ‘Skeleton’ watch, and made of layered Ebony wood, with a beautiful copper dial and blue hands. You can see the components working inside the self winding automatic watch (a huge bonus as it’s so frustrating when you have to buy a new watch battery). The effect of the copper dial is masculine against the dark wood and it really is a unique watch.

It also came with a complimentary engraved cedar humidor box and a cleaning cloth and wood oil, plus a one year warrantee – and the chance to have your watch professionally sized before dispatch.

It really is the most beautiful gift – I feel like I’ve earned some serious wife points for Christmas this year!

Jord have also offered my readers the chance to win $100 off a Jord watch of their choice. You can enter by clicking the Giveaway photo below. All entrants will also receive 10% off at Jord.

(T’s & C’s Apply. Winner will be notified one month after the start date of the giveaway. The $100 will be in the form of a code and there is no cash alternative).

Disclosure: I was kindly sent the Dover Watch for Review. All photographs and opinions are as always my own.
