REVIEW| Messy Me Antilop Highchair Cushion

Disclosure: We were kindly sent a Messy Me Designs Highchair cushion for the purpose of this review

Over the years of being a mum, I think I’ve tried every bit of baby equipment going – I would actually go as far to say that I’m a bit of an oracle when it comes to prams, car seats and highchairs.

We’ve had a vast selection of all of the above throughout the last 9 years and you definitely get to know what you like and what works for you.

One product I’ve always loved and recommended is the IKEA Antilop Highchair with the tray. For £12 you cannot really go wrong. It’s wipeable, portable (the legs just pop off) and it doesn’t take up a lot of space. We discovered it when Ollie was a baby and he managed to escape every highchair we tried him in – he still clambers like a mountain goat now – luckily Mason and Ottilie have not carried on that trait!

The only downside of the Antilop chair for me is that it’s aesthetically boring. It’s plain white, and although it’s functional and easy to clean, it’s just a bit ‘meh’ to look at. Not anymore though…

A couple of years ago we were lucky enough to work with the lovely Messy Me Designs on a review of their wipeable aprons, which the kids loved to wear for baking. Messy Me make a range of high quality, wipeable and stylish products, which look gorgeous in your home, and help to make life a little bit brighter and mess free.

Ottilie has been weaning since she turned 6 and a half months old and we’ve done a mix of purée and baby led weaning with her. As much as I love how much she loves to feed herself, it usually ends up with food everywhere and a LOT of mess.

We were kindly sent a Antilop High Chair Cushion in the Pastel Roses pattern (RRP £22), and I absolutely love it. The ‘Cath Kidston-esque’ fabric looks perfect in our kitchen, and Ottilie loves how padded and comfortable it is. It’s easily wipeable, and despite Ottie loving tomato based foods it hasn’t stained at all. Messy Me have a choice of three patterns to suit your home/tastes and they are incredibly well thought out and well made.

It makes our basic white highchair look so much more appealing to the eye too.

Every product I’ve come across so far from Messy Me has been fantastic quality, and has stood the test of time (and the test of very messy children!!). They also make cushions for wooden highchairs and a range of products from oilcloth bags, splashmats (we need one of these!), bibs, to kids aprons (we have another review coming soon so keep an eye out) and tunics.

We’ve definitely enjoyed using our highchair cushion and it even came away on holiday with us in the summer (it folds up small for packing in the car). Thankyou so much Messy Me!
