Messy Me Review | Gorgeous Oilcloth Products for Children

The one thing that the Little Brushneen’s are always good at is getting messy. Honestly, by 3pm you would think that I’d sent them down a mine rather than to school each day. We are huge fans of messy play and craft – well I say we, the kids mainly. I enjoy it when it’s happening, and love that the kids enjoy it but then hate the mess and washing of the clothes afterwards. I have at points genuinely thought of taking out shares in stain removers as we go through so many. As Izzie and Ollie have got older…

The Siblings Project – October 2017

I swear these posts come round quicker and quicker each month. We are well and truly into autumn now, although we are really enjoying some lovely mild weather. It seems like the last month has flown by. It always seems that way when the kids are at school. Life becomes a blur of school runs and homework and making sure the PE kits and swimming bags aren’t forgotten. I’m really looking forward to the holidays which will start on Wednesday, I can’t wait for a bit of a slower pace. I’m all too aware looking at these photos of the…

Out Of My Comfort Zone, Confidence after Babyloss & Making New Friends

For the last 5 years I have been a stay at home mum. Mummy to two little people, later three. At home I am in my little bubble. I struggle from time to time as we all do. I spend my days with three people less than 3ft tall, lacking in adult conversation and always wondering whether I’m doing the right thing. That said I feel confident in my role as Mummy – I know that ultimately I am doing my best for them, and hopefully shaping them into the wonderful adults they will become. I found it hard for…

How to ‘Survive’ a Rainbow Pregnancy

I ummed and ahhed about the title of this post – How to ‘Survive a Rainbow Pregnancy’ – to say ‘survive’ sounded slightly dramatic, but the reality is, when you have lost a baby, at whatever stage of pregnancy or infancy, getting through another pregnancy is just that – surviving. This week marks Baby Loss Awareness week 2017 (9th-15th October). I’ve written lot of posts about how we lost our second little girl Sophie at 24 weeks gestation. You can read them here if you would like to know more of our story. I have also included a video at…

{Living Arrows 2017} #26

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Kahlil Gilbran This weeks photo was taken last week when we were at Bluestone. We visited the most beautiful beach (Freshwater West) and it has some of the biggest sand dunes I’ve ever seen. Perfect for little explorers. This photo of Ollie just cracks me up. We couldn’t see him for a second and then all of a sudden he popped up at the top of this sand dune. He’s developed such a cheeky sense of humour lately. He is quite dry and is often funny…

Num Noms #SURPRISEINAJAR | REVIEW

If you have a child a similar age to Izzie (7 going on 17 sometimes) you will probably have heard of NumNoms. If you haven’t, you must have been living under a rock! Izzie is a big fan of any toy that you can collect. She regularly finds a new collection and manages to con my mum into buying her new ones on her weekly shop – the benefits of being the first born grandchild obviously. Lately NumNoms have been the favourite and I can see why. They are collectible, cute and smell lovely. Izzie has also been loving the…
